Sara Gonnering and Cole Hanson, both of Kenosha, announced their engagement. She is the daughter of David and Debbie Gonnering of Wausau and Sally and Mark Heinzen of Pleasant Prairie. He is the son of Steven and Paulette Hanson of Kenosha.

The future bride graduated from Tremper High School and Northern Michigan University, Marquette, Mich., receiving a bachelor's degree in early childhood/psychology. She also attended Cardinal Stritch University, receiving a master's in education. She is employed by the Kenosha Unified School District.

Her fiance graduated from Tremper High School. He is employed at Gordon Food Service in Kenosha.

They plan to be married on Oct. 20.

The couple reside in Kenosha.
