Sydney Hung and Evan Dowdell, both of Madison, were married on Jan. 16, 2015, at the Pleasant Prairie home of the groom's parents. The bride is the daughter of Jia-Jang Hung and Feng-Chen Hsu of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The groom is the son of Kenneth and Terri Dowdell.
Pleasant Prairie Village Judge Richard Ginkowski officiated the 3:30 p.m. ceremony.
The ring bearer was the nephew of the groom, Rowan Schmidt.
An evening reception was held at Kemper Center.
The bride attends the University of Wisconsin-Madison, pursuing a master's in business degree in brand and product management. She earned her undergraduate degree in sociology and international business from National Taiwan University, Taipei. She was previously employed in marketing by L'Oreal, Taiwan.
The groom attends the University of Wisconsin-Madison, pursuing a master's in business degree in finance. He earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from UW-Madison. He was previously employed in clinical research at the University of Chicago.
The couple met when they sat next to each other in an early finance course in their master's programs.
Following graduation in May and a reception in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, the couple will relocate to Austin, Texas.
